Job Description

Job Title: Commodity Buyer (x2)

Location: Basildon, Essex  

Hourly Rate: £20.84 Umbrella Company Basis - likely to increase to £26.40 after 12 weeks in the position under AWR

Employment Type: Contract (initially approx. 12 months)

Hours: Standard 37.5 Hours Per Week

Position Description:

** Commodity Buyer ** x 2

Procurement of vehicle components. Strategic sourcing of new model programmes within a global team, and ongoing supply management.

 

Skills Required:

·       Ability to negotiate with suppliers and develop purchasing strategies in co-operation with engineering. Working within a global team.

·       Must have effective communication skills, written and verbal.

·       Good analytical skills to analyse complex data sheets.

·       Must be able to travel to support lean and engineering workshops

 

Skills Preferred:

·       CIPS and good computer skills

 

Experience Required:

·       Working as a Buyer or purchasing Professional

 

Experience Preferred:

·       Preferably Commodity Purchasing experience within a large organization

 

Education Required:

·       Good A levels

 

Education Preferred:

·       Degree level preferred in a relevant subject

 

Additional Information:

·       Must be able to travel to support lean and engineering workshops

·       Must have a valid driving license

·       Contract Duration - 12 Months
